Keyword Density Checker

A keyword density checker measures how often each word or phrase appears in your text, as a percentage of the total: a keyword used 12 times in 800 words has a density of 1.5%. Density = (keyword count ÷ total words) × 100.

Density matters as a sanity check, not a target. Google has no ideal percentage — but the extremes hurt: a page that never uses its topic phrase struggles to rank for it, and a page repeating it every other sentence reads as keyword stuffing, which Google's spam policies explicitly penalize. Most naturally-written, well-ranking pages land in the 0.5–2% range for their main keyword without trying.
