What is Time Converter?
A time converter translates durations between units — seconds to minutes, hours to days, or years to seconds. Time units are irregular by history rather than design: 60 seconds to the minute and 60 minutes to the hour come from Babylonian base-60 arithmetic, while 24 hours, 7-day weeks and 365-day years follow astronomy.
For calendar-length units this tool uses the common conventions: a month is counted as 30 days and a year as 365 days. Those are the standard assumptions for billing periods, SLAs and back-of-envelope math; they intentionally ignore leap years and 31-day months, which calendar apps handle instead.
