What is Barcode Generator?

Which type when: Code 128 — versatile, encodes letters and numbers, ideal for internal inventory, asset tags, shipping labels and general use (the go-to when you're not selling in retail); EAN-13 — the 13-digit retail barcode used on products worldwide (requires a registered manufacturer number for real retail); UPC-A — the 12-digit retail standard in North America; and Code 39 — an older alphanumeric format still used in some industrial and government contexts.

Practical notes: for INTERNAL use (your own inventory, asset tracking, warehouse labels), generate any format with any data you like — you control the scanning system, so the codes just need to be unique and consistent. For RETAIL sale through stores, EAN/UPC numbers must be officially assigned (via GS1) — you can't just make them up, or they'll collide with real products; generate the barcode from your assigned number, not an invented one. Print at adequate size and contrast (barcodes need quiet space around them and sharp printing to scan reliably).
