International Shoe and Clothing Size Conversion Guide
Online shopping from another country means decoding unfamiliar size labels — and getting it wrong means a return. Here's how international sizing works.
Shoe sizes
US, UK, EU and cm-based (Japan) systems all differ. Roughly: US = UK + 1 (men's), and EU sizes run much higher numerically (a US 9 ≈ UK 8 ≈ EU 42). The most reliable method is measuring your foot in centimeters and matching that, since cm is unambiguous.
Clothing sizes
Clothing is even less standardised — an "M" varies by brand and country, and US/UK women's numeric sizes differ by about 4 (a US 8 ≈ UK 12). Always check the brand's own measurement chart (chest, waist, hips) rather than trusting the letter alone.

Bottom line
For shoes, measure your foot in cm and convert from there; for clothing, trust the brand's measurement chart over the letter size. A size converter gets you in the right range — but real measurements are what prevent returns.
