What is Hosting Checker?

A hosting checker identifies the company serving a website: it resolves the domain to its IP and looks up who owns that address space — AWS, Hetzner, Hostinger, OVH, or the CDN fronting it. The infrastructure behind the brand, in one query.

The one modern caveat, stated up front: for CDN-proxied sites (a third of the web sits behind Cloudflare), the checker sees the CDN — the origin host is deliberately hidden. "Hosted on Cloudflare" mostly means "protected by Cloudflare, origin unknown".

Because the checker sees the proxy — Cloudflare fronts a huge share of the web, hiding origins behind its IPs (that's the protection). The real host is invisible externally; nameservers and headers sometimes hint.
