WordPress Theme Detector
Detect which WordPress theme a site uses — theme and often the parent.
How to use WordPress Theme Detector
- Enter the WordPress site URL.
- Read the detected theme — and parent/framework if it's a child theme.
- No result? Likely custom, heavily modified, or a page-builder site — itself informative.
- Research the theme to license it — and check plugins/tech for the full build.
What is WordPress Theme Detector?
A WordPress theme detector identifies the theme powering a WordPress site by reading the telltale signs in its code — theme files referenced in the page source, style.css headers, and framework fingerprints. See a WordPress site you admire and want to know what theme built it? This reads it off the source.
WordPress powers a huge share of the web, and its themes are largely public products (free or commercial), so identifying one is legitimate research — you might buy the same theme, evaluate it for a project, or understand how a competitor built their site.
About the WordPress Theme Detector
Enter a WordPress site's URL and get the detected theme, often including the parent theme or framework if it's a child theme.
Why people check: inspiration and buying decisions — you like a site's design and want to build on the same theme (identify it, then find and license it); competitive research — understanding what a competitor's site is built on (and thus its capabilities and constraints); evaluating before rebuilds — checking what a site you're inheriting or redesigning currently runs; and learning — seeing which themes real successful sites choose.
What it can and can't tell: detection works when the theme leaves standard fingerprints (most do); heavily customized themes, page-builder sites (Elementor, Divi builders can obscure the base theme), and custom-coded themes may not identify cleanly — a blank result often means "custom or heavily modified", itself useful information. Detecting the theme is step one; the design also depends on customizations, plugins and content you can't simply buy.
